THE PERFECT DAY
If you're looking for ideas to create the perfect weekend, let us provide you with some suggestions to ignite your inner fire.

DAY 1: ITINERARY
Wake up and simply turn your head and witness the myriad of bird species taking a bath in the hand-hewn black basalt stone bird bath (frequent flyers are warblers, finches, hooded orioles, and black-crested knat catchers that look like an all-black Robins).
Take your partners coffee order and as specific as they like as the coffee bar is loaded so that you can be their in-house barista.
Meet your partner outside on the memory foam couch to take in the morning glow and hear all of the birds getting their day started.
Ponder rolling out the yoga mats outside the master bedroom for some poses or stretching as morning shadows slow dance along the mountains in front of you.
Prepare and enjoy an alfresco breakfast around the veranda dining table with super comfy flex-back chairs.
Gear up for perhaps the longest hike of the day before it may get too hot. 'Indian lookout' provides shaded sandy areas and a glorious view over the valley. For the intrepid, consider a summit of Troutman Mountain from the south side, this is heavy-duty bouldering and scrambling up about 400' to the 2000' summit, the views are extraordinary.
Enjoy some of the tallest ocotillos on Earth in what is regarded as the largest ocotillo forest on Earth all to yourselves as you make your way back to the farm. If you're lucky you may spot a roadrunner or desert rabbit on the way home.
Welcome back to the farm. Time to freshen up before lunch. Is it finally time for your first outdoor shower? After a sumptuous lunch you'll have to make a tough call: is it time for a latte or cappuccino or do you head the other direction and contemplate a siesta? If a siesta is in order you've got too many great options: your luxurious master bedroom Casper Select mattress, the firm cowhide leather couch in the living room or the Writer's Chair, the memory foam couch outside, the luxurious 12" memory foam star bed outside or are you going to head back into the field in search of secrets and surprises?
The afternoon brings an urge to hit the trail one more time before perhaps the highlight of the day, the afternoon/evening golden hours. Hit the trail and see what secrets of the enchanted landscape will be revealed as every time you head out you will see new things, new colors and new shapes as the sunlight changes the landscape right before your eyes.
Time to head back to the farm and 'get ready' for the main event. An incredibly unique phenomena occurs right here at 1,600'. As the sun threatens to head over the Laguna mountains, it will cast radical angles of light down on to the desert floor and the mountains will turn an inky blue right before your eyes. Although named the Laguna Mountains from this angle on the veranda, you may agree that they should be renamed the Blue Mountains. Spoil your partner with apps and perhaps an ice-cold cocktail, beer or wine for this momentous occasion. The veranda cover was carefully placed to allow you a shaded view from the couch at this time of day. This is the golden hour, cheers to a day very well-lived!
Ah dinner. Will you turn this into a labor of love or just pop your partners favorite Freshly gourmet TV dinner in the microwave and then plate it?! We have done everything in our power to allow you to impress your partner with your cooking, whether on the flagship gas range, baking in the oven, air frying, grilling or cooking cowboy style over an open fire.
Don't forget to momentarily slip away from your partner and 'prep the LZ' (landing zone). Take the cover off the fire table and light 'er up. Turn on the overhead veranda candles and remember to turn the lights down low inside for the ultimate in ambiance (kitchen lights are on a dimmer). Bust out the Bluetooth speaker if you haven't already and play their favorite tunes. The mood is set and you are the captain of the night.
Hopefully dinner and desert were leisurely and comfortable in the flex-back chairs. Time to seek more fire, will you sit on the veranda couch and ignite the fire rectangular gas fire pit or head over to the stone fire pit and light a fire for your partner? A wand lighter, firestarter kindling, a log carrier and plenty of matured and split avocado firewood is at your service right under the carport, dazzle them with your Bear Grylls fire-starting skills.
It almost about that time. Time to turn off all or almost all of the lights to allow your eyes to adjust to night-vision mode so that you can maximize your star-gazing pleasure. Will you draw a bath for your partner and then slip into something a little more comfortable or perhaps nothing at all? Enjoy sitting in your own cast iron tub immersed in restorative mineral water as your eyes adjust to the night sky witnessing perhaps more shooting stars or satellite traffic than ever before.
After getting out of the tub and depending on the temperature, jump into something cozy and head out to the star bed. Set up the telescope on a constellation of your choice and summon your partner when you have it dialed into some serious celestial eye-candy.
Wooh what a day. Starting to slow things down now. The night is your oyster but be warned as soon as you sink into the master bedroom Casper Select mattress it may be lights out sooner than planned, so to keep the fun going, use the bedside remote control to adjust the back of the bed so that you can it upright and enjoy a show or some bedtime reading. You'd be remiss not to turn on the fireplace and enhance the mood ever further.

DAY 2: ITINERARY
Repeat!
Ready to go further a field? There are some popular hikes a short drive from the farm but frankly everything else may pale in comparison to the enchanted desert. Check out The Farm guidebook and/or tablet for greater details but you can drive to Blair Valley (three popular hikes there and also fairly crowded), go check out the hand-carved stone chute in Box Canyon, hike Rainbow Canyon, check out the Vallecito Stagecoach Station, drop by Agua Caliente Hot Springs for a soak in one of their three hot spring pools, head for the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves and enjoy all of the wildflowers blooming in that area and if not afraid of caves and the dark (bring a headlamp, there are two at the farm to borrow) for the ultimate Star Wars/ Land of the Lost experience, plan to walk through the mud caves. If you are into off-roading, try the half moon loop from the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves with an exit to the south at Canyon Sin Nombre.
Well that wraps up a sample itinerary of a few days in the enchanted and almost secret green valley beneath Laguna Mountain. We really hope that you have the most intimate and peaceful weekend possible and one full of fun, love, adventure and surprises!
If you are looking for one last toast to an incredible weekend, we highly recommend a late afternoon glass of wine at Rancho Guejito Winery. The atmosphere here is lovely and the scenery as bucolic and authentic as it gets.
